Beginner's Guide to Using a Telescope II!

Event Type: FAMILY/ALL AGES PROGRAM - REGISTERED
Date: 8/14/2019
Start Time: 8:15 PM
End Time: 9:45 PM
Description:
The Library has purchased telescopes that you can check out and use at home for stargazing. If you've never used a telescope before, we've got you covered! Because our July learn-to-use-a-telescope program booked up so quickly, we've added a second program! Chief Astronomer Valerie Rapson, from the Dudley Observatory, will present this special program on how telescopes work. Learn about some great apps that you can use on your device to identify stars and planets. We'll also have handouts that you can take home to navigate the night sky on your own.
Please note: because sunset will be around 8:15 pm in August, please plan to be at the Library beyond our usual closing time, so we can spend some time outside trying out our new telescope skills! If weather is bad, we'll be inside for an informative PowerPoint presentation.
